Can anyone provide a theory as to why Sokratis and Lacazette are starting in a meaningless game?

Emery is trying to kill them. Or Emery is letting them play while he goes home and sleep with their wifes. Or Emery is punishing them because instead of eating hot dogs yesterday they ate real dogs.

But he already does...

Plus, he gets a knock today and we're have 0 subs for Auba.

I like Eddie, but we're aiming for a CL spot here.

So we shouldn't give players playing time just in case the get a knock? What's the point, a player could get an injury at any time. Lacazette needs to be sharp and ready when he's called upon, not playing him today wouldn't make any sense especially when you considered he's only contributed to a 3rd of the playing time of our last 7 games.

It's clear that Auba is first choice, if that's the case then Laca will need as much game time as possible so he can be as sharp as possible when he's called upon.

Again, this is basic stuff. It's common sense. It's amazing that a big deal is being made of it.

Arsenal Quotes

Don’t be scared to be ambitious. It’s not a humiliation to have a high target and to fail. For me, the real humiliation is to have a target and not to give everything to reach it.
