Emery's win rate is 57%, similar to Wenger's over 22 years.

Pochetino's win rate is 55%. Mourinho's win rate with a much richer club at United was 58%.

People are definitely OTT about Emery. His game stats are at odds with his win rate, so either he's very very lucky or the game stats are not so significant.

Would love to know what his win rate is with or without Europa League games, which would skew the results by quite a lot given Wenger, Potch and Mourinho have played UCL a lot more than Emery has.

Mourinho was in the Europa league for some of his United days.

Not Wenger if course, only a tiny % of his 22 years were Europa games.

Not a lot to write home about. Emery's won it 3 times with teams lesser than United.

Mate, I don't really like Mourinho, but are we comparing him to Emery and saying Unai's the better overall manager?

I'm sorry but that's not going to end well. The reason why he's played so much Europa league is because that's his level. Didn't one of his Sevilla titles came because he failed to qualify in his UCL group?

He's not a bad manager and I don't personally dislike him the way I do Mourinho, but he's not a good fit in a bigger club with a strong national identity. Spartak, PSG and now Arsenal.

He won the UEFA Cup with Porto his first season in it.

I meant with United, but that's just as good as winning it with Sevilla. One of these managers kicked-on, the other is still trying to translate his successes with a lesser club into the Big Bois league.

It is crazy how many people get out of touch as to how far they can go with their abuse.

We all have come to the point where we want Emery to leave, but he has more than obviously shown that he put all his heart into this job and club and tried all his best, it just isn't enough anymore. He has many qualities in which he excells at, but he's gotten out of touch with the team and it is only going to go one way from here, sadly.

Wish him all the best for his next chapter, still a quality coach with great spirit and a good heart.

Agree. Almost wish he was a prick, would make it a lot easier to dislike him. But he just seems like a really nice person. Just not good enough for Arsenal.

“People are definitely OTT with Emery” according to @Makingtrax and his dodgy numbers routine.

Not like we’ve watched Emery and his team. There has been no over reaction at all.
P!ss off wasteman.

Emery isn't our only problem, end of story.

You might remember all those posters saying 'any manager could get top 4 with this squad', when Wenger was here. Well hows that working out?

Sack him now, erase all evidence that he was ever our manager, pretend the last 1.5 years never happened.

Harsh. He came second with 87 points and then won the league with 93 points.

Don't forget 2 managers had managed to win the league with PSG on 83 points, so his first year was a bit tough with Monaco over performing.
But he still lost with that expensive squad.

He is a decent manager that perhaps struggles to manage bigger clubs. I think he is more suited to medium sized clubs.

He seems to have lost the plot a bit this season but last season he performed to par.

People are also retrospectively s'hitting on the work he done at Valencia or Sevilla. Granted the moscow job was a failure. Winning 3 EL titles in a row is still a great achievement. Similarly his work at Valencia very decent. He took over while they were struggling and improved them.

His time at PSG while not exactly a success not sure I would classify as a failure too. Most of the time he performed to par. Tuchel is rated so highly but arguably he is doing worse. Actually to win 7 trophies in 2 years can't be sniffed at, even for PSG.

People love to pick out a couple of his worst games in a 15 year managerial career. The 6-1 against Barca and being beaten by 9 men Real. Yes it was bad and it shouldn't have happened but Barca did have Messi, Iniesta, Neymar and Suarez all on the field. Some of the most gifted footballers of their generation. We also forget he beat them 4-0 at home in the first leg. He must have done something right to thrash Barca like that.

The same with the 9 men loss to Real. There is no excuse for this. Shocking result. But football is a funny old game and in such a long career you are bound to have a game or two which would have been humiliating. Every manager has suffered embarrassing defeats, including the great Wenger. 8-2, 6-0 losses. It shouldn't and can't define your career. Strangely enough Emery's Valancia beat that same Real side twice in the space of a few months either side of that loss to 9 men. A 3-2 and 3-0, while they both had 11 men. It shows that 9 men defeat wasn't a typical result.

So if the 6-1 loss to Barca and the 9 men defeat to Real showed his incompetence, what does his 3-0 win over Real, 3-1 over Liverpool in a final and numerous other positive result show? He has won 10 trophies in the space of 5 years. He isn't a bum.

The job here unfortunately seems too big for him. Time has run out for him. I hope he finds a club that suits him next. Thanks for your effort Unai. Goodbye and goodluck.

That Monaco side he lost to is seriously under rated. A lethal Falcoa and Mbappe up front. Bernardo Silva, Fabinho, Lemar and Moutinho in midfield. they also had Mendy and Sidibe. A brilliant side who also kicked Pep's ass in the Champions League Quarter finals that season . Imo that side would have won most leagues that year.
