Nah, Coutinho is terrible. He’s had one good season and done not much else. Poor footballer, not very productive either. Simply don’t rate him, never have.

He’ll cost a bomb too, Barcelona will want to get back a huge chunk of that 130M they paid for him.

Guys like Pepe, Zaha, Coman etc are much better if we’re spending that sort of money.
Coutinho is still better than Zaha, Pepe and Coman though. He has already produced more than them this season so I don't see where you're getting that from. He is so far away from a terrible footballer. No way any of them are good buys over 50/70 let alone 130 and I doubt Barca are getting anybody to pay anywhere close to that for Coutinho.

Martinelli another player who AM will have you believe is some young phenom but when you watch him he’s the poorest winger in the PL. Jury is totally out on him, very limited footballer.

Don't think he's a winger, seems like a striker more but then again does he have the all round game to be a lone striker, seems like a striker who'd need to play alongside another and you don't see many two men partnerships nowadays. Maybe you're right, maybe we see his pace and tenacity and we get excited but you need more at this level. Would like to see more of him centrally though before giving a final verdict. I'll reiterate he's definitely not a winger.

Agree on Coutinho too, Bayern are so much better without him, Barca got rid of him, Liverpool haven't missed him at all. Since letting him go they've went from top 4 contenders to reaching a CL final, winning the CL and finishing on 97 points and now runaway league leaders.

One thing with Coutinho he's almost caught between a winger and a 10. But he's not really either. Not quick enough or explosive enough to be an effective wide man. Also a guy who'll always look to come central. But then doesn't do enough in terms of his ability to wide spaces to be an effective 10, he's certainly not an Özil type. Does his best work in and around the box but other than that you'll be playing with 10 men with or without the ball until he gets in that range where he can cause damage. He's a guy you still well clear of.

Willian would be alright if can't get better but nowhere near a 2015 Willian for example.

According to the papers today we are replacing PEA with Chris Woods.

Replacing the best forward in the league with the modern day John Hartson.

Why not? It sums up our fall perfectly. Might as well start acting like a mid-table club now.

It’s soul destroying knowing that Coutinho is happening and there’s nothing we can do to stop it. Anything from £30m (loan package) to £80m on a permanent. Kia, Edu and Raul will have this club like Portsmouth before they’re hounded out.

Then you will have the usual suspects bullying me for questioning our transfer strategy.

Chris Wood...you shouldn't underestimate the power of the big **** striker. Look at Antonio Conte's teams-both for Italy and his clubs-, our golden days of FA Cup wins and France's WC win.
