I should change my name to Nostrafreakingdamus the injury excuse is already being trotted out for Allardyce in skinny jeans and season hasn’t begun. Arteta is like Mozart in the movie Amadeus a tortured genius snake bit by fate, circumstance, and the envy of us lesser men. When we get 5th or 6th after 400 million pounds of investment are we really stupid enough to buy the injury excuse again? Well if post Fox News America is any indication yes we as a species are stupid enough and 99 percent of us can not discern reality from propaganda.

Weirdly enough this PR article popped up for me from the same site today despite never reading it. Takes a dump on Emery/Wenger to prop up Tets as you'd expect, the quote at the end is just sad though

"This is his squad and now the pressure to deliver goes up yet another level".

The fact that Arteta was given a near free pass to finish 8th/8th and bottle 4th because it supposedly wasn't "his squad" is pathetic. No other manager would get that luxury, imagine saying to a Conte you can finish 8th for years till it's "your squad". Then again top managers don't live off excuses, a Conte comes in and works with players he has never worked with before and get's 4th first time asking, not whine about it not being his squad and pay off journalists to run PR for you.

The "it's not his squad" excuse looks like it is finally dead though. Another excuse for failure gone, Tets is running out at this rate.
