Is Favre bum manager ? Think that someone here wanted him at Arsenal.

I was one of them. Thought after Gladbach and Nice he deserved a shot at a top club and was about to take the step up to become a title winning manager. But seems he's just not got that extra grit to really force the issue of mounting a sustained title challenge with a CL club instead of just overperforming with an EL level club.

There definitely is a difference between seeing yourself as someone who can have a good season by e.g. getting EL and you're on track and then might even slightly overperform coming 2nd or something but it's kind of just that overperforming run of results you take as a positive, and then someone who actually sets out to win the league from the get go and finding that grit and mentality to perform like a title contender and favourite every game while not losing your swagger.

Seems Favre doesn't have that grit and is unable to instill it in his team, although I also think they actually do lack mentality and leadership in that young Dortmund squad.
