2014/15 Fixture List

We open at home to Crystal Palace, whilst September sees us face both City and Sp**s at home. The big games are pretty well spaced out.

Notably, we play United away the 2nd last match of the season... Title decider?

That doesn't look half bad actually, no brutal clusters of games like we had in December and March last season.

More like 4th place decider but its almost like a title for us. :D
I'm waiting for Mourinhno to come out again with his idiotic comments about our fixtures.

I think this is one of the best fixture list we had for many season

- We start at home and finally end at home (which we did not have for past few season)

- We have few bigger games at home first. This is because we usually have a positive start to season, so we can finally start to take points of big games: City H, United H

- There is no particular period where we have a set of draconian fixture list, like last season.

- The tough Christmas period is not the most difficult: Liverpool A, QPR H, West Ham A, Soton A.

- February and March are very good, if we are in good running for Cups: CL, FA or League

- If it happens that we're in teh running for the title, April and May are favorable for us. We have Liverpool and Chelsea at home, with only United A, the remaining difficult fixture.

We start and finish at home, must've been a while since that last happened. I'm only interested in how often we're playing away from home after midweek Champions League games, that' always important.

Really liking the fixtures, as mentioned, not as clustered as we're used to. With that said, I'm sure it will start looking ugly as soon as we hit the group stages of the CL.

OK, so the image going around previously showing us opening vs. Liverpool was a fake. Thanks. On first sight looks like a fair distribution of easier and harder fixtures (on paper), a bit different from the last couple of seasons.

Check out Man U's fixtures.. Their first tough game comes at the end of October. In theory they could have over 20 points by then, will give them a lot of confidence and the media will proclaim Van Gaal as a genius despite facing no tough opponents.

In-between the tough away games against Swansea and West Brom is a game against mid-table "it was just a fluke" Man Utd.

Goodison Park this August, that's obviously before and after it for the qualifier.

First group stage game would be after a home match against Man City, and before going to Villa Park.

There would probably be also one between the Sp**s (H) and Chelsea (A) games. Then before Sunderland (A), Swansea (A), West Brom (A). After Stoke (A) and before Newcastle (H) will probably be the last group stage match.

Biggest problem is the number of away games after Champions League rounds.

19/20.8 Playoff
23.8 @Everton
26/27.8 Playoff
30.8 @Leicester
16/17.9 Matchday 1
20.9 @Aston Villa
30.9/1.10 Matchday 2
4.10 @Chelsea
21/22.10 Matchday 3
25.10 @Sunderland
4/5.11 Matchday 4
8.11 @Swansea
25/26.11 Matchday 5
29.11 @West Brom
9/10.12 Matchday 6
13.12 Newcastle

Other then that it looks fine.

If we're still in touching distance come February/March, it could be the complete opposite of last season.... we might actually go on a decent run judging by the fixtures and end up gaining a lot of points in that last period of the season which might just put it in our favour.

Not a big fan of using fixture lists to say we will do well or we won't as we still play each team twice.

Win against the **** teams and not losing against the top teams is the most important thing.

But not having weeks where we basically face Liverpool, Bayern, Chelsea, Bayern, Sp**s, MU in a row is still a very very nice bonus.

League is very weak
I would say that's a balanced fixture list, no run of big games, or brutal winter fixtures.

Sort of fixture list where you could drop points but get back on track, unlike last season where we had that patch of killer games.

First seven games include Everton (a), Man City (h), Sp**s (h), chelsea (a). Difficult start.

Last season other fans and the pundits were saying we had it easy for ages, every week MOTD "Oh Arsenal havent been tested yet, thats why they are top!" Well they cant say it this coming season :D

We will be playing 2 CL qualifiers but that may well be an advantage as we should get up to speed quicker.

Clubs prefer to play league games at home after Champions League ties because of reduced preparation time, but Arsenal are away in seven out of a possible eight matches, if qualifiers are included.

This a major issue for us IMO.

That isn't bad at all. Other than the late August - early October period the big games are all well spaced apart.

The away games after CL ties problem is something we seem to get a lot. Not many of those away games are particularly difficult though.
