The Bulgarian football federation has asked that CSKA Sofia will be excluded from the next Champions League preliminary round cause of their financial situation; if UEFA will accept this request, the club that would replace the Bulgarian team would be the one with the highest UEFA coefficient, that means AC Milan. The Italian club was involved in the opposite situation in 2006, when Lens asked to be admitted to the Champions League instead of Milan that was involved in a corruption scandal.

So maybe Flamini will be playing in the CL afterall? Surely it should go to the team that finished second in the Bulgarian league?

after a little research i found out that in light of their ban, Porto are being replaced by the third placed team in Portugal, Guimares and not the team with the highest co-efficient in Europe. so unless uefa are going to blatantly contradict themselves(which sadly wouldnt be at all suprising), Levski should get that spot.

The Bulgarian club should be replaced by the next Bulgarian club, the Portuguese by the next Portuguese club. It's just that simple.

And to think that we have the likes of Blatter and Platini rambling on about the need to protect and give opportunities to these so-called 'lesser' teams by implementing a foolish idea like the 6+5 rule. :roll:

If they go ahead and support Milan on this issue and there you go with a bunch of hypocrites.
