Yeah for something like £10m or more we could certainly replace him. Pedretti is a good talent I like the look of that Xabi Alonso who plays for Real Sociedad too.

I cant see any regualer first teamers leaving the gunners or being sold. Why would you want to leave if youre getting a regular spot. We have a great team spirit are a great chance each year for a trophy or maybe even two. If we get an offer which is to good to refuse probably a little over 10mil for Gilberto maybe.

We are trying to build a side not break it.

Not sure he'll leave! Not less then 9/10 mil anyway! to replace him, i'll go for one of the 2 Bayern CM! Ballack (then Viera will defend more) or Hargreaves ( then viera will play attacking mdfld).

Pedretti isn't a Premiership player he's too lightweight

Pedretti is young, but already an excellent player.
Captain of his team (Sochaux, 4th in League), and in the "20 list" in French team. He'll be at Euro

He's not a rock like Viera, but highly technical. Specialist of short and long VERY powerful and precise pass. You will be impressed when you'll see him play at Euro. :D

You wont improve by always changing players. Since gilberto has been everpresent in our team and although he appears to never do much, he is an essential part of the team and is versatile. Wont be selling unless the offer is like 10m

For me (maybe only me) Pedretti is better than Gilberto. Arsène should sold it at great price and buy pedretti (surely no more than 6M £ 10M euros, a great investisment )

I dont really want us to sell Gilberto. I have seen him a few times as he is a popular member of the squad. This is important to Wenger tactics.

No. I like Gilberto and he has been good for us. There is no need to sell him unless he is unsettled, which he isnt; or the sum offered is ridiculously high, which wont happen either.

It's not easy to simply buy another player after selling one. Usually the bought player is either not as good as the sold player, or much younger.

There's not much point to it unless its enforced - eg contract running out soon, player wants to leave, no opportunities. Then you can start looking for replacements.

Then you have the stability issue, and dressing room morale. Players won't be happy if they think that they could be sold and replaced at any time. Especially first team players.

A new player will also take time to settle in. And who knows how long that will take? It's almost never it.

I hope he doesn't go, and I'm glad any offer would have to be refusable if he was to go..

He is dispensable, BUT only for a big fee. :D

Still, wouldn't really want him to go.

i think Gilberto isn't doing bad this season, he does miss some chances here and there but he's alright . . . if Atletico offer somewhere between
8-10 million then maybe u could sell but if not it ain't worth unsettling the players.

I like Gilberto as you say he is settled, however, he is not settled with the fans.
The amount of boos he gets is killing his confidence, even on ITV text today hes says hes flattered by the offer cause it shows how well hes been playing. I wish the fans would stop booing him so that he can play without the fear of being slated.

Arsenal Quotes

I am immensely proud to say that I am the manager who has won the most FA Cups, and MY Arsenal are the club to lift it the most.
