I know this has been talked about before, couldn't find the original post, but BBC's MOTD has tracked down the mystery screamer in the north bank. It's a lady called Elaine James. An interesting segment about her on MOTD.

I was really expecting her to be a blonde bird from Essex called Tracey or Sharon, so I was quite suprised to see a fanatic middleaged brown-haired woman

I thought that was her! She was not what I was expecting either! They normally put something in the programme about the half time scoreboard but it didn't mention her, or anyone.

No i was at that game and it was not her. The screaming Woman is Black but that Woman that put the scores up is white.

I simply adore the Highbury/North Bank Screamer. It would be great if she is made Arsenal Mascot next year at the Ashburton grove, donning a Grey Squirrel outfitt...it would be really awesome....


another crazy thought would be to give her seat again really near to a ground-mike with really powerful micro-phone at the Grove next year....maybe then all the gooners all over the world want to stuff her!!!!

So according to that thread (which is two years old) it was on Sky Sports. Our Clarkey was right after all!
