"I must say this year we had among the best attack but [with one game to go] we have conceded 31 goals which is six or seven too many," he said. "It's as close as that to win the championship.

It is 2008.

“They made the difference with their defence this year conceding only 24 goals.”
"We have conceded 36, they have conceded 24, we have scored 64 they have scored 67. Offensively, I do not believe there is a difference. Defensively, there was a difference.”

That was 2009.

Just shows how much Wenger's words mean nowadays. Since he stated that defense was an issue, we have conceded 20 more goals.

July 22nd: 14 hours of flight time from London to Kuala Lumpur (Must quickly adjust to the 8 hours time difference)

July 24th: Game in 90% humidity
July 25th: 6 hour flight to Beijing
July 27th: Game under heavy rain
July 27th: 4 hour flight to Hong Kong
July 29th: Game in 80% humidity

I think it's fair to say that that's way too much to ask from any player to do in 7 days!!!

Results are irrelevant. Good job to them all for working so hard. Now they can go home and rest a bit!

Add to that all the commercial engagements and the sight-seeing. The lads were all over Hong Kong fulfilling various obligations etc the day of the Kitchee Koo game-certainly not the ideal preparation.

Arsenal Quotes

A player's true character is in how he plays and not in his social life. You can hide your real personality in your social life, You cannot on the field.
