Randall was better then any of those other midfielders on display today.

We were put under tremendous pressure throughout.

I wonder how many we would have conceded if Touré, Gallas and Almunia had played.

That's exactly what I was thinking watching Fabianski's heroics, coupled with the long ball clearences by Senderos and Djourou. We would have been creamed with the blond porno clown, the afro clown and the sulking clown.

Randall looks to be completely disinterested sometimes. I rate him technically but theres a little bit more than tha required/

Fabianski was fantastic.

Missed the first half as I thought this match was tomorrow. Saw Vela goal, very well taken. Squillaci is a fantastic defender, could have solved our defensive problems.

Our youngsters look way too out of depth imo. The whole of 2nd half, we couldn't string 2 passes successfully together. This performance reminds me of the thrashing we got a Seville with our young guns as well in CL

Decent game.

That was really too stern a test for our toddlers. What was the average age of that midfield? Seventeen? Sevilla really should have scored more, but kudos to the Fifth Beatle, Lukas Fabianski, on a terrific performance.

The Bendtner Monster really reared its ugly head in the second half. Selfish, wasteful and simply not much fun to watch at all. Sometimes he looks so full of himself that he just might explode from the pressure.

I thought Wilshere continued to show that bit of extra vision that will keep him ahead of the Ramseys and Randalls of this world. He has terrific awareness of what is happening on the pitch and his thought process is always one step ahead. Obviously, he's still overmatched physically and no stalwart defensively, but that stuff will come around. Vela also looked pretty good. It really looks like he's having fun out there (in contrast to e.g. Bendtner). Hopefully that attitude will rub off on some of the others.

not too disapointing...people want to worry for us- but the old rule is you first 11 should beat everyone, your second 11 should be able to draw against anyone- and bearing in mind that that wasnt even our 2nd eleven- grinding out a result against seville is a good thing

(cos if our first eleven is

almunia
sagna-toure-gallas-clichy
nasri-cesc-denilson-rosicky
ade-vanpersie

our second would be something like

fabianski
hoyte-senderos-song-traore
eboue-diaby-ramsey-walcott
vela-bendtner

we featured gibbs, thomas, djourou, randall, wilshere who would probably not be in the 2nd eleven

yeah, all in all that was ok, vela's looking class, as was fabianski- senderos and djourou were very solid- wilshere was very promising also

thought hoyte was awful-again, ramsey and randall both really struggled when we diddnt have the ball, (although that's probably the best i've seen randall play this preseason) thomas looked good at LM but dodgey at left back, gibbs held his own but suffered from being exposed time and time again, bendtner was pretty poor today, lazy and kept making the wrong decisions and lost the ball- denilson and sagna diddnt change match (not that they really could) and theo came on to loose the ball a hell of a lot more than wilshere

yeah, season starts as of now....i'm not too worried, i think we actually have plenty of cover in the front 5 positions, and we have the numbers at CB (5 recognised CBs) so i guess were ok they, were looking ok in goal- fullbacks are worrying- i wouldnt mind if wenger put eboue in after sagna but if hoyte ever plays for us again it will make a joke of the shirt.-i'd be all for shoving dagna at LB after clichy also and putting eboue at RB.(or gallas at lb)...but again wenger probably wont so between traore and gibbs they are going to have a lot of growing up to do if they are going to be able to cope.....ideally we'll sign one expierenced, defensively apt CM, who can cover across the back line- but if not, i think we'll cope

Don't know if it was because of the sticky air in the dome. Randall and Ramsey looked knackered, even Wilshere appeared the same.

Not being dominat in this game is one thing, given the quality of Seviulla. However, not being intelligent enough to utilise rare possessions is another. When Sevilla levelled the game, the youngsters still either passed the ball sideway or forward and kept losing possession. Why not did a few backpasses to slow down the tempo of the game? Sevilla had to win, Arsenal didn't have to and could wait a bit for oppotunities, as long as the team can keep the ball. But the kids didn't do this. They gave the ball recklessly and fueled Sevilla's momentum. Stupid, just plain stupid, I have to say. Also I was surprised no one was vocal enough to tell teammates to slow the game down a bit when the ball was recovered. :x

This game reflects the away game in Sevilla last season. Capel and Navas were both very good on the ball and with pace. The team were constantly driven back by these two wingers. Out CMs were not up for it today. So practically the team gave away the whole midfield to opposition. Fabianski was excellent.

We were under immense pressure from Sevilla today, in the end a good result considering they created a good chance about every minute  Thought both wingers of theirs had a brilliant game, Jesús Navas gave Gibbs a lot of problems down his right hand side, every time he got the ball he was an instant threat. Very good technical player IMO, wouldn't make it here though would he? Heard he is homesick.

Anyway, wasn't impressed with Ramsey at all, same goes for Randall, thought Wilshere did pretty well as per. What a finish though from Vela, showed decent strength to hold off the challenge as well. Up the Arsenal.

Good test for the young guys, felt a little sorry for them as having players out of position, namely Gibbs and Thomas at left back didnt help.

No one really warrents much critisism except for Ramsey, just seemed to want ages on the ball, his passing was off and was too weak and looked tired from the start... then again the guy is 17 up against top opposition and alongside Randall which didnt help, so no worries.

Vela did well and Fabianski was terrific.

Fabianski MOM for me.
Without him we must be lost 1-4 or 1-5.

Senderos looks far more calm under long ball, excellent in the air, and akways keeps eye on the ball. If he's strong mentally, on the pre season showing he should start ahead of Touré.

He's fine for games that aren't high pressure, but against the big boys in pressure situations he just bottles it. Simple as that.

Milan was a big game, the biggest of the season at that time and he really stood out.

If he's strong mentally Phil can be an excellent defender and a better defender than Kolo who has steadily decreased :(

Only question is did he grow stronger since Liverpool game or weaker. Without knowing he's a risk but still think Phil and Gallas are the best partnership as Phil is quite good at attacking the ball and is best defender we currently have to head balls clear with power.

Was just keeping an eye on it tonight because of Kolo's poor header last night, even though the ball was looping and he couldnt get power in it, the direction was poor. Phil tonight whether heading back to keeper or flicking it away, was confident and di it well. He's far from being the next Maldini but with the defense we have, he should be in the first team on Wed

Just saw Robin pick up the Cup on behalf of Arsenal (can we keep it now?) & go to the remaining travelling fans. Wenger is still there too (team is already back). They're just interviewing Arsène. edit: Too short for anything interesting.
