A prestigious charity game between Arsenal and Barcelona could take place in Strasbourg on June 13.
Strasbourg general director Jean-Luc Herzog has revealed that there is a verbal agreement between both clubs and Unicef to organise this friendly encounter in France next summer.
This would be a very emotional night for Arsène Wenger, who was born in the Alsatian capital and who managed the club’s academy at the start of his coaching career.
This glamorous clash at La Meinau would be a remake of the 2006 Champions League final that Arsenal dramatically lost 2-1 with 10 men at Stade de France, with Jens Lehmann sent off early on in the match.
Herzog told DNA: “We have given our agreement in principle, but it’s just the preliminaries.
“At this hour, there’s no written confirmation."
