Arsenal in talks with David Ospina

According to our colleagues at RMC, Arsenal have contacted Colombian international and OGC Nice goalkeeper David Ospina’s representatives over the possibility of moving the player to London for free, with his contract with Les Aiglons expiring next month.

He looks good enough to be a backup and he's free. The biggest problem will be his height. He looks pretty short for a GK. Hopefully, he wants to work on his command in the box and claiming of crosses. No problem with signing him. Ideally, he won't need to play much.

Seems a sensible option on paper, is he any good especially at collecting crosses and the like? I don't want us having to work on him a lot like Fabianski to stop us collapsing at set pieces.

i think Mirror got it wrong here according to RMC his contract ends this month. and if we really want why waiting after the world cup to buy him? we could lose him to other team.

I lived in Nice for a long time last year and went to a lot of their games, he was absolute boss.

His shot stopping is fantastic and he doesn't make many errors, I can see him really pushing Szczesny for no. 1. Great signing after signing, feel like I'm dreaming!

Ospina would be a very good Keeper to sign. Great shot-stopper - pretty much taking over where Fabianski left off in that regard. Also yet to see him troubled by crosses and such. He will provide great competition for Wojcech.
