According to the Portuguese newspaper O Jogo Arsenal are interested in signing Sporting CP’s Diego Capel who is also wanted by Marseille and has been heavily linked with Liverpool over the summer.

The winger, who the paper claims could be available for €7m [earlier reports in the summer claimed he had a £10m price tag], is said to be seen as an ideal replacement for Gervinho who was transferred to Roma early in the window after just two seasons with Arsenal.

He was actually linked to us while he was at Sevilla, never understood why he went to Sporting. I enjoyed his game almost every time I've watched him.

Used to be good but guessing his careers gone down hill. An out and out winger who lies to go past people.Would be a little underwhelming to be honest but as a replacement for Ox he would do.

Not sure about him at the moment, back in the days he used to be very good when he was playing for Sevilla but now he is not so good anymore. I rather sign Bruma if we are going to sign winger from Sporting.

To be fair as a replacement for Gervinho and cover for Ox he wouldn't be a bad signing. Would leave us with Theo and Santi for the right and Podolski and Capel for the left with Ox to return after Xmas. Would still hope a top class forward came in though.

However that's still the same issue that resulted in all the dross - cover/squad players to cover for injured/developing players = a dumbing down of performance & capability.
