We're finishing halfway down the table with zero creativity in midfield this season. Assuming we add 2 midfielders and keep ceballos he should still get a lot of game time between 10 and 20 games in the league and play in most of the cup matches. If we dont add 2 midfielders he should get a lot more game time whether he is ready for it or not.

Agree that our midfielders can be upgraded. But our lack of creativity is not just down to 1 or 2 players.

The main problem is that we are unable to create overload/out-numbering our opponent.
Because we have too many ”off the ball players”. Or ”final third players”. Who are not good on the ball and do not contribute in the general play/build up phase.

Bit of that, bit of the formation, bit of not having the players to create anything. Playing Smith Rowe should make an improvement on all of those things.

This looks like exactly what we need - a midfielder who creates chances and shoots. His defensive game is almost non-existent and we still have to see how he adapts to a higher level. But the signs are promising.

Defensive game is non existent because he was playing really advanced. Basically as a cf off the ball.

His defensive game will need to be worked on a lot more than his offensive. His stride pattern leading up to shots needs to be worked on. He always off balance or stretching on the slide. Bit like Santi. Can strike a very good dead ball so it's about how much he works on it. Arteta is perfect for that as he is an excellent shooter.

Yeah it’s the only negative I can really pick out as well.

Guy is so well rounded as an attacking footballer, Arteta could turn him into any kind of AM.

Funnily enough, I was watching a bit of his longer highlights video and was thinking “we don’t need grealish if this kid is getting minutes”.

Grealish obviously the better player but they’re so similar that the club would have to think carefully about ESR’s chances of making it here before going for Grealish.

I’d like another loan for him tbh.

Maybe a promotion chasing team this time like Bournemouth or Norwich if we could make a deal for Brooks or Buendia.

Tbh. he'll get plenty of opportunities in our midfield next season if the plan is to get back to 4-3-3.

I'm really excited to see him play next season for the first team. Insanely talented. Problem is his injuries, but hopefully he'll stay healthy.

Arsenal1508 Mods are unethical! Ozil, come assist me please!

If he is a star that we expect of him, he will force Arteta to play him just like Saka.

It is about ESR taking the opportunties as he gets them to solidify his spot in the 1st 11.
