Fever Pitch

Is apparently being shown at the Emirates.. This weekend? Along with a set from 'The Away Boyz'.

However, has anyone seen this movie? It sounds like the only good thing about it is the name 'Arsenal' in it, however I am willing to give it a shot.

There is a previous thread about the movie in the lobby, however that would mean I'd have to for one venture into the lobby, and two I'd have to bump a thread which was made before we won our last trophy!

Is the old thread.

It's in this section as well:

Plus, it's not quite that old.

Bit of a funny movie actually. The acting wasn't much, but oh well, the football talk and viewing was good.

I still can't get over the fact that Mark Strong (Steve in FP) was the main villain (or, rather, the main one seen) in Sherlock Holmes, and one of his character's holdings was mentioned as being the Woolwich Arsenal. That had to be an "easter egg" thrown into the script.

Ruth Gemmell isn't as attractive as Drew Barrymore. And there's precious little game action aside from the TV broadcast of the Anfield Finale (even Green Street had some inside-the-ground action), whereas the U.S. version has some wonderful shots of Boston including great ones of Fenway Park. Other than that, the U.K. version is by far the superior.

Of course, if you knew which teams I support for in both sports, you'd know I'm predisposed to like the U.K. version, while, due to its ending, I consider the U.S. version a horror film!

Arsenal Quotes

When I am asked why I stayed at Arsenal so long.. my answer is simple; I never wanted to be anywhere else. I could have earned a lot more elsewhere, but that wouldn't compensate for all the good years at Highbury.
