Good, but nowhere near the likes of Gallas or Toure. he'd be a squad player for sure.

Cannavaro leaves so except for Pepe, Metzelder and Ramos there's not much cover for CB. Plus Ramos plays more RB I think. Must admit I haven't payed much attention to them this season. Find them annoying so I stay away. ;-)

Cahill is actually quality. Would do a solid job and to be honest i'd trust him more over the course of the season then all of our CBs apart from Gallas. Do agree though that we should be shooting at another defender of Gallas' quality or better. 20 million is ridicolous though, no Bolton player would ever be sold for that sum!!

If theres anyone to blame, its graeme souness and abramovic. Souness was probably the first to slap a ridiculous price on a player and abramovic was crazy enough to take him up on the offer with damien duff. Then all managers realise they could do that too... and tottenham decided to do just that...disastrously.
