I Know Who You Are
Nah lad got it all wrong, they just "anticipated contact".

"Buying a free kick" was another classic, I remember being told regularly (by ITV) that Van Nistelrooy was very clever in the way that he did this.
That's the benefit of having experts like Clive "that great night in Barcelona" Tyldesley and Andy "not for me Clive" Townsend to fill you in about these things, otherwise you may have fallen into the trap of thinking he was just an enormous cheating, horse-faced c*nt.

So another 10 years of bullshit coming up. :D Fifa gave all national associations the time and space untill 2018 to experiment with the video ref etc. and wtf did the FA do with the time? Eredivisie will have a video ref at every single game in the season 18/19, next season they'll iron out all the faults at cup games and then its go time.

Other sports have had it for years and years. The game is too fast paced and has too much at stake to be decided by some arrogant bald ************.

This doesn't work. A player could dive for a pen against you, get it, score, and then get banned against a rival the following week. Doing this retroactively simply does not work. The team you did it against gets zero recompense, worst case it only benefits a direct rival.

Football is behind the times, as always. So many successful sports around the world with video reviews, yet football won't do it because it "ruins the game"? No, **** off. Diving and season defining bad calls ruin the game. If you're worried about the game being ruined by adding 4 minutes or so to every game for video reviews, there's clearly much deeper problems.

It's honestly embarrassing how behind the times football is. It's like the UKIP of sports.
The ban means players could potentially lose their place in the team if their replacement comes in and does well. so there is a deterrent at least

FA announce 13-strong panel for alleged simulation reviews
By PA
Last Updated: 04/08/17 4:57pm

The Football Association has revealed the 13-strong pool of former managers, players and referees which will make up panels that review alleged incidents of simulation in the new season.

The panels will be comprised of one representative from each of those groups of professionals, and they will independently review clear cases of what is officially known as "the successful deception of a match official".

If all three members of the panel agree that a player successfully tricked the referee into awarding a penalty or getting a rival sent off, via a straight red card or yellow card that leads to a dismissal, a charge will follow which carries a two-match ban.

The eight former managers and players on the FA list are: Nigel Adkins, Rachel Brown-Finnis, Terry Butcher, Lee Dixon, Alex McLeish, Danny Murphy, Chris Powell and Trevor Sinclair.

The five ex-match officials are: Keren Barratt, Steve Dunn, Mike Mullarkey, Alan Wiley and Eddie Wolstenholme.

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy (L) reacts after referee Jonathan Moss (2L) showed Vardy him a second yellow card for simulation to send him off
These names will only be called upon to review footage from a game when there is an obvious case to answer, and any conflicts of interest the individuals may have in regards to clubs they have played for or managed will be taken into account.

Brown-Finnis, a former England goalkeeper, is the only woman on the list, while several of the former male players on the list are now prominent television pundits, which could mean their views on a case become clear from their post-match comments.

The FA's new crackdown on simulation is based on a similar system that has been working in Scotland for several seasons.

Arsenal Quotes

It was a unique moment, a football fairytale. Was there anyone left who still believed I could give that kind of performance? Probably only Arsène Wenger.
