Re: Jonathan De Guzman

Funny thing is that the "Hargreaves" tag isn't even made up by The Sun but by my new favorite pet hate website CaughtOffside a couple of days ago.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.caughtoffside.com/2008/08/26/arsenal-keen-to-sign-8m-%e2%80%98new-hargreaves%e2%80%99-is-this-a-good-idea/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.caughtoffside.com/2008/08/26 ... good-idea/</a>

Damn I hate that site!

EDIT: His price have apparently gone up in two days. Oh the wonders of The Sun.

JDG II's parents are not of Dutch heritage, as that last article states, rather Filipino on his dad's side and Jamaican on his mom's side.

The only way he resembles Hargreaves is that he's chosen to play for another country despite being born and raised in Canuckland. Too bad as we sure could use him and it would have been nice to see Jonathan play alongside his brother in our national team. His brother is quite the player, by the way.

I've been hoping that we would sign this kid for years but I don't see it happening, unfortunately.

He says it feels like he has 4 nationalities. He has Filipin and Jamaican roots. He was born in Canada and lived there for 12 years but he also lives 9 years in Holland now. So he could choose for 4 countries and he has chosen the best one because he can play big tournaments with Holland.

But it's hard for me. I'm an Arsenal and Feyenoordsupporter. De Guzman is my favourite Feyenoordplayer at the moment. Offcourse I would love it to see him in an Arsenalshirt. But I think Feyenoord needs him more than Arsenal. He's one of the few Feyenoord players with big potential. Yes, Feyenoord also needs the money but I think it's too short for them to buy some good players. The've show it in the past, where they bought only bad players in the last days of the transfer period. If Arsenal bought him a month ago, it would be ok for Feyenoord.

Re: Jonathan De Guzman

Just wait for Wenger to get Harry Kewell for pennies and later ship Bendtner to Udinese on loan. Just you wait.

I was very disappointed in him that he decided to play for the Netherlands instead of Canada.

From what someone tells me he's a lightweight playmaker, doesnt exactly sound like what we need next to Cesc.
