Terrible decision. His legs are gone and you wanna go out on a high rather than stay 1 year too long and be liability

His role can be cutting down Rice and New CM's minutes down by 15-20% by coming on when we're battering teams and in home games where we'll dominate possession.

I'm fine with that. Don't think we should be relying massively on him

Very good decision by the club. Hopefully he can get himself fully fit over the summer. He's the kind of player that you ideally have leading the team in the earlier stages of the cups as well as making spot appearances in the league so that you can go deep in every competition. He's a positive influence on the dressing room and provides good leadership and experience. I'm pleased he's going to stay.

Spot on. He's the sort of guy who is an ideal squad player, bags of experience, doesn't mind riding the bench and usually gives you a 7/10 performance whenever he steps on the pitch.

That's, like, your opinion, man.

Just... just get the +1 activated and be done with it. He's not leaving for any sort of good money, there's no value to protect and his legs are already gone.

Let him add to the squad and leave on a free.

He is not an ideal squad player. We are seeing a player who is on downward spiral physically and 6 months make big difference. Next season he will be a real liability

You really are the most negative poster on this site, and usually backed by 0 evidence.

Jorginho is already slow and weak, he was when he joined...but against certain opponents and next to a Partey or Rice he can dictate play very nicely as he's shown.

Very different to a guy like a Theo or a Mudryk or even a Martinelli where you know once the pace declines they'll be half the player.

Jorginho is going downhill physically. If you don’t see different between now and when he joined. Then you are blind. 1 more season will be 1 season too much and I guarantee you it will spoil his reputation here. Getting rid of players at the right time is vital.

I disagree, and so do the club...so I guess we'll see if you're right or not.

Great news our best CM after Rice.

Bring in a new signing to partner Rice and have Jorginho as back up.

I think we just saving money to get CF LCM and RW maybe LB too if we want quality players in these positions we have to keep one of our squad players.

Focus on selling Nelson Eddie and ESR they can provide you good fees

Jorg has exceeded expectations as far as his stay and has been a bargain.

He has been instrumental to our team's success this year. Rice should be thanking him.

Can see it from both sides.

This is the best time to move on and upgrade. At the same time, his veteran presence is tremendous and can't hurt as long has serves in a rotational/squad type role.

Just shows the progress we are making.
Past few years we had Elneny for that role. Now we have Jorginho.

He had an niggling injury ridden season for like the first time in his career. It doesn't mean his legs are totally gone, and he has never relied upon speed.

He won't be a starting player mostly anyway, likely mostly in meaningless matches or coming in later in the game.

He also got MotM against Liverpool and Newcastle this year. He is not past-it. It's possible to get a couple million for him the year after if he still has a contract. 32,5 years old is not too much for a midfielder, who has not been injured much in his career.

Yes, exactly. You want to see this sort of improvement throughout the squad. We went from the likes of Jesus and Zinchenko being nailed on starters and Elnenny filling that role to them being peripheral figures and bench options if not moved on entirely with a vastly improved starting XI in 2 seasons. This is what teams that have sustained success and compete for the biggest trophies do.

He's playing through a foot injury, Captain Derp. That's why he's being used sparingly. He was never quick to begin with and he's still more than good enough with legs around him to positively impact matches. You're also the same person that was still saying 7 Hag is a better manager than Arteta early in the season so I hate to tell you that nobody puts any stock in your predictions or assessments because you're almost always wrong.
