Arsenal doesn't need to sell Alexis in order to fund Mbappe. It's not a poverty club.

You don't need to be a "poverty club" to struggle to fund the most expensive transfer of all time. Particularly if you've broken your transfer record once already this window.

Although that was never an issue here. The question was whether you would have Mbappe or Sanchez if you could only have one. Everyone and their dog knows that the dream scenario is keeping Sanchez and signing Mbappe which is why no-one is bothering to discuss it.

Extra money is there for a "special" player. If Mbappe were to tell Arsène Wenger he wants to come to Arsenal, the club would fund the transfer. And they wouldn't push Alexis out to fund it. They might sell some other guys, but they're not going to push their best player out of the club prior to a season in which they absolutely must do better. Mbappe is for the future. Sanchez is for now. There's no use buying Mbappe and finishing 6th.

Ah, the Spanish press. Arsenal has bid €142.5 million for Mbappe, but the player has his heart set on Real Madrid. Isn't that heartwarming?

It's how we got clowns like Donald Trump running the most powerful country in the world. Giving relevance to bullshitters isn't the way to go. Dunno why some of you want to fill this forum with so much crap.
Don't you give them relevance by hating them too? No such thing as bad publicity and all that.

Honestly some of the worst journalism I've ever read.

First of all Arsenal are never bidding 100M plus for him. Secondly who bids 140M before agreeing something with the player?

The money angle is just half the picture. Mbappe will demand regular time with the World Cup being around the corner. We won't be able to give Sanchez, Lacazette, Özil and Mbappe all regular game time. Though, admittedly it'll be a nice problem to have.
In fact, even the Lacazette transfer makes this more unlikely.

If we go back to 4-2-3-1 or even 4-3-3. We could maybe play with Mbappe and Alexis on wings and Laca upfront, with them three switching positions in game and Laca drifting out wide from times to times.
