Do you think Emery will get the club back on an upwards trajectory?

City hired Pep bleedin' Guardiola and only gave him a 3 year deal to start with.
Pep doesn't sign long term deals. Never stayed anywhere more than 3 years. He says the manager loses their ability to control the players to the extent that he needs and the impact of his system is lost.

Others would say he burns out his players and they get pissed off at him.

Right but Emery is quite similar to Pep in that he doesn't stay places for too long, maybe 3-4 years tops. Also the budgets have nothing to do with it. If Emery is doing well and building the team slowly and you want him to stay longer then you can just extend his deal. The point is that there's no reason why you need to give him longer than 3 years at the beginning.

It is imo. At 3rd year the rebuilding would maybe be half way there and the team is still struggling to get results. It gives owners excuse to sack him easily.

Hm if by the 3rd season there's still no real sign of progression then changing manager might be the right thing to do. We're not hiring Emery because we expect him to be our greatest ever manager, we're hiring him cos we want him to make us better and take us back to the Champions League, beyond that we'll see.

If he isn't doing that then we could just change manager, hence why it's silly to give someone a longer than average contract. 3 years is fine imo, it sends the message that we have realistic expectations. Giving Moyes a 6 year contract should be a warning, not an example to follow.

Any Emery favourites at PSG who might be open to moving to London..?
I'm ready to transport Areola, Kurzawa and Rabiot on my back up
We can get some of their rejects...Jesse, Krychowiak, Ben Arfa, Kurzawa or even ADM...:).
The Kimpembe, Lo Celso or Rabiot will not happen though.

Rabiot could possibly happen tbh. His contract ends in 2019, he still hasn't renew and I'm not sure Tuchel wants him (Lo Celso-Verratti suit more his playing style and Weigl could join).
Problems with Rabiot are:

- His agent is his mother and this tends to affect him
- It doesn't seems that he really likes the club
- He is too egocentric
- He sometimes act as a diva, relying on his qualities, doing no efforts
- He doesn't want to play as n6 whereas he's too static and doesn't have the vision to play 8

I'm pretty sure he would be out since a long time if he wasn't from PSG academy (Nasser says Rabiot is like is son, imagine that being said by a club president ).

Didier Deschamps is a donkey manager but he was right not to take Rabiot for the WC. Nzonzi, Kanté Matuidi Tolisso Pogba Lemar are way better and useful than him.
Just heard that he refuses to be a reservist for Russia, this guy would end up ruining his career if he doesn't become aware of certain things.

Arsenal could be a great choice for him:

- He was the midfield player most used by Emery (700mins more than the 2nd)
- He often say he would like to discover others leagues (yet this fraud said he wanted to be PSG Steven Gerrard lmao)
- His relationships with the fans is getting worse
- He is really dissapointed about Deschamps not picking him for the WC and could think this is the right moment for him to leave France and begin a fresh start.

Let say 35-40m and he's yours.

I think 2-3rd tier club problem is that they don't stick by their manager for longer time. This happens even at top clubs.
