Man Utd could report Real to FIFA

Manchester United have threatened to report Real Madrid to Fifa over their interest in signing Cristiano Ronaldo.

Real coach Bernd Schuster and president Ramon Calderon have both expressed a desire to see Ronaldo at the Bernabeu.

But a United statement read: "We have watched with growing irritation the comments attributed to Real Madrid over their alleged desire to sign Cristiano.

"We will have no alternative but to report Real if it continues to behave in this totally unacceptable fashion."

It added: "These public attempts to unsettle the player are completely against the regulations and the club will not tolerate them any longer.

"The player is on a long-term contract and his registration is held by Manchester United. The player is not for sale.

"No-one should be in any doubt that Manchester United will do everything in its power to keep its best players."

The simple fact is Cristiano has another four years left on his contract

Sir Alex Ferguson
The release of the statement is the latest twist in a story that has rolled on for months, with Ronaldo refusing to state publicly and unequivocally that his future lay with United.

After United's victory in the Champions League final over Chelsea, he told BBC Sport: "I don't promise nothing. I don't promise nothing to my mum, I don't promise nothing to supporters."

However, United chief executive David Gill subsequently told BBC Radio 5 Live: "He's got four more years with us and we're sure he'll be with us for many years."

And the club's threat to report Real to Fifa follows manager Sir Alex Ferguson's comments on the matter last week, accusing the Spanish champions of "lacking morals".

"Schuster's talking and Calderon's talking," he said. "Real think they can ride roughshod over everyone, but they won't do it with us. They have no moral issues."

And Ferguson drew a comparison with Real's fierce rivals Barcelona as he fought to draw a line under continuing speculation surrounding the 23-year-old Portuguese winger's future.

He said: "In terms of great clubs, Barcelona have far better morality than Real Madrid will ever have. Real use this Marca newspaper as a vehicle to unsettle players.

"Do you not think we have had many expressions of interest about our players from big clubs in Europe?

"Real Madrid are not the only club interested in Ronaldo. But the others are not saying so. They don't get into this nonsense.

"Calderon makes that great statement 'slavery was abolished many years ago'. Did they tell General Franco that? Give me a break.

"The simple fact is Cristiano has another four years left on his contract."

United have sold David Beckham, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Gabriel Heinze to Real in recent years, but Ferguson insisted the case of Ronaldo was different.

He said: "Yes, we sold them Van Nistelrooy and Beckham but we did that because we wanted to."

And Argentine defender Heinze was transferred to Real last summer after failing in a public battle to secure a move to United's arch-rivals Liverpool.

It's about time somebody done something about this, Real Madrid and Barcelona to certain extent have been getting away with this for far too long, and we of all people know too well about it. But what can FIFA or UEFA really do about it?

FIFA will listen to what they have to say and sit on it until it eventually dies down. They don't want to get involved in this mess because they don't have the balls to do so and are too busy being politically correct.

Anything in regards to reporting Real to FIFA is comical.

Blatter always licks Real's balls. He is their Board honorary member and he will do anything to protect Real.

Last year, he broke the rules for playign international football, and made a special allowance for Real to hold Diarra and Robinho from joining their national teams, only so they could play in last game vs. Mallorca and Real become Spain's champions.
Then last year, when he saw that Rafael Van DerVaart wanted to join Valencia, probably someone from Real told him so and old turd Blatter went on to a public rage accusing VDV of "how he is all about money and he is betraying his club Hamburg to join low-lifes of Valencia".

This year will be no different. If Manure and Arsenal report Real for approaching Ronaldo and Hleb, nothing will ever be taken against them as this seems like a huge conspiracy of Blatter inner circle of him, Platini, Calderon, Moratti etc...

Watch this space. If Manure report Real, Blatter will be furious and God knows what special things he will allow Real to do.

Not that Sir red nose is any different in approaching players though. He made similar tactics to unsettle Benzema and Ben Arfa before they played Lyon in this year's CL run.

Real Madrid are a bunch of classless tossers who think if they wave a white hanky then players will run to them.

Who cares what Man U do or what they post on their website, its all down to player power nowadays, they know and so do we. If Cesc said he wants to quit Arsenal and go to spain, what the hell can we do? Exactly, sell him to the highest bidder

If he wants to go theres absolutely nothing they can do but let him leave. Theyre already in huge debt. I wouldnt be suprised if his head is being swayed by members of his portuguese team though

Well done United. Bout time teams started fighting back against teams like Madrid, Barca, Inter and Milan. The two Spanish clubs in particular have a history of unsettling players. Particuarly ours. Even with the team we currently have Hleb, Cesc and Ade have all been linked to them in recent weeks. Madrid have made their interest known publically on several ocassions. Theres a respectable way to go about transfers...its time clubs that haven't learnt it yet are punished until they do.

They tapped up Robben, Stam, RvN, Vieira, Hargreaves and probably some more I can't think of as well. Yet when someone does the same to them they cry foul, like Luka says a bunch of hypocrites.

Saying most top clubs tap up players yet moan when it is done to them....
