Mikel Arteta: Aston La Vista To The Title?

Analysing heat maps and pass maps and such is pointless because all our issues stem from a lack of confidence and poor mentality throughout the squad, and when it’s like that, it affects everything and everyone.

These players did the same to Emery, Ljungberg and Wenger. Emery and Wenger had determined players like Ramsey to bail them out. That’s all gone now.

We have too many players who don’t care. Start with captain Auba, looked dejected yesterday. Many great crosses came his way at all heights, he never attacked it. Every confident striker attacks those crosses and tries to make something happen. Compare it to Gabriel attacking his only cross from a short corner...
I would normally say it’s up to the manager to motivate his players but these players have failed multiple managers. I’m sure Arteta is trying to work with them but that could also be his mistake, much like Wenger would. Auba needs to be dropped. Anyone else who radiates a poor mentality needs to be dropped.

Only fans who can’t see the issue right before their eyes would blame it on tactics and the manager. The players performed for the manager previously and they looked fantastic; attacking patterns and beautiful football and everything. You don’t explain how that suddenly stops. No it’s not the opposition “figuring us out” it’s completely down to mentality.
It’s no wonder the Europa league squads look better.

Tell the players to pass through the middle sometimes ffs. We have no players central in opposition half or even the centre circle.
As long you got no number 10 that never going to happen you see every game we play the gap between midfield and front 3 is too big we only create chances from wings or fullbacks so the solution you either start play with number 10 or tell 2 of your 3 midfielders to stay higher so we'll have chance doing that the problem we'll never be capable of doing that because we'll be prone in counters and our midfield is slow.

Arteta’s multilingual capabilities should be nothing but applauded tbh.

It’s not even an issue and Keown is chatting sh*t. All moot point when the fans come back anyways that audible coaching thing Arteta has going on would be out the window.

Yeah bit of a strange point to pick....next he'll be telling Arteta to shave his head as his immaculate hair is making Lacazette jealous and prompting bad performances.....

We need desperately overhaul the midfield we get Partey but it's shows it need more we haven't had player similar to Cazorla since he gone Ramsey too. Both these players gave us something different Cazorla was creating from deep he carry the ball well amazing feets Ramsey is full of energy and always available when we attack. I don't know if football changed but most teams midfield these days are boring

Auba for 6 months. Auba who until this was scoring every week.

Laca was one of the better players under Wenger. He’s not a starter now, can’t blame him for anything.

Not what I remember. Wenger continually went through poor spells too. It wasn’t as bad as it is now because Wenger had more positive characters in his squad.

I’m talking about the players, you said they let Wenger down like they are Arteta now, they didn’t. Auba scored 10 in 13, Laca scored 15 in 31, in the league. Those are nearly goal a game or one in two numbers, great numbers.

Other than Xhaka, and Bellerin, nobody else from the Wenger days is here.

Willock, AMN, El Neny, Holding , Mustafi, Kolasinac, Nelson, Nketiah.

They were all in Wenger’s latest squads. All part of the dressing room, then and now. We can throw Özil into the mix because he’s having an influence in training too.

The only manager the players betrayed was Emery, after failed communication and motivation problems, a group in the squad just gave up on him and fans encouraged them to not bother trying until it was obvious he couldn't continue

About Wenger it was a mix of burnout after a last extension he signed because the club didn't have any plans post Wenger, and a very hostile climate by our imbecile fanbase that deserve to see their team fighting in the lower half of the table and possibly beyond

There's nothing suggesting the players aren't following Arteta's instructions, in fact Arteta publicly acknowledged that he was happy with most of our performances and takes blame when our garbage football doesn't produce points. You can't tell he's protecting the players as the Pepe case showed up.

So because the facts don’t back up what @Manberg claimed, he’s throwing guys like Eddie, Reiss, AMN, and Willock under the bus. These guys were 16/17 when Wenger was here.

Or he’s going to blame Kola, Özil and EL Neny. Who aren’t starting at all really.

They’re a lot of the same players. Besides, Willock, AMN and Nketiah all played under Wenger’s latest squads such as when we lost to Newcastle. Nelson had games too. Not all their fault. Like I said it’s worse now, because the mentality’s been getting gradually worse and we lost some positive influences such as Ramsey.

Furthermore, Auba was phenomenal for Emery, had over 30 goals in 45 games I think. Even Laca scored something like 20 in 44/45 games for him.

Two excellent players for Emery.

Why is @Manberg saying they let down Wenger and Emery when they clearly didn’t?

Auba was phenomenal for Arteta too... last season. Compare Auba’s body language back then to Auba’s body language in games after having signed his contract and you’ll see a massive difference. It’s not just body language it’s individual performances too. Busting a gut to get on the end of a cross vs standing still ball watching like he does now etc.

Sometimes when players get their massive pay check they don’t care anymore. Özil did the same.

We were saying last season that Arteta has to tinker to get more chances for Auba? We thought with transfers it would happen this season. It wasn’t nice smelling flowers in the garden last season either.

If anything, Auba was finding gold in the mud at the end of last season. That only happens for so long.

I cannot agree. Arteta built the system around Auba, then and now (when we played 343). The difference is the difference in Auba’s performances. Auba’s not the only culprit but being the star man he is the biggest influence.
