Yeah they pretty much ripped into Pepe straight away tbh and in hindsight he was actually even doing ok. Announced himself by destroying Ben Mee and Van Dijk straight away. Scored 2 free kicks off the bench in an Europa league match to save Emery’s blushes which in itself isn’t normal.

Arsenal don’t often spend 72 mil plus he has the Raul stench around him which never helped him (or was accurate).

Pepe has no chance the way we’re playing him, he’s garbage one on one with fb’s, he shouldn’t be a traditional winger. The people who’ve compared him to robben are so wrong it’s insane, Robben was deadly 1v1 because he was incredibly explosive in small spaces, we have to get Pepe in and close to goal or ****ing forget about it. Didn't we see it all already? Laca on the bench, Pepe on the bench, ESR on the bench, Auba on the bench... You guys barely know how to wipe your nose so I don't even have high expectations from you to understand anything more than "let him ride the bench"

He was great when we were on the front foot creating space and actually working a press. No surprise he faded once there was no one around him to contribute.

He's far from perfect, but it was his shot that made Aubas goal and partially his cross that gave Laca the goal for our draw. He needs a fullback that actually overlaps, he needs to have one of Ode/ESR next to him to play one-twos.

He literally held off two Palace players and waited for someone to overlap and got nothing.

Yeah, he's not worth the 70m we got mugged for him, but he is one of our best players and it pains me to see something as obvious as getting the best out of him ellude Mikel Cowardly Arteta.

Agreed, I'm not a fan of his at all. But other than the fact Arteta is manager, I think the Ødegaard and ESR were far bigger issues tonight.
