Ronaldo V Zidane

Not sure. I think Ronaldo was the better player up till 98. That's when Zidane came to the fore and Ronaldo suffered injuries which really affected the way he played. He put on more weight and became a box player, whereas before then he was everything. Zidane seemed more consistent at a higher level from then on.

To be honest i think Ronaldo at his peak was the best striker i have ever seen. Better than Romario, Van Basten, Gullit, Henry etc. (but that is just my opinion)

More consistent and playing at the highest level for a long time are two completely different things.

Just a couple of more goals from the man himself a couple of days ago. Depends if you like that stuff. . .

Pretty one dimensional, this guy...put it on the floor and he's useless. ;)

In form his in at the moment it would be criminal if he isn't picked in the next Brazilian squad.

Gone and broke his hand now, aint he? Out for a month. I get nervous whenever he's out for longer than 2 weeks because it could be the start of more niggling injuries.

^^ GoonerE...:lol:...and I thought I had an unhealthy obsession with Zidane.

His bones are breaking as a result of the fatness of the man...:wink:

:lol: I knew you couldn't keep you vow of keeping away. I can't help it, I'm always checkin' how he's doin'. Now Dennis has retired my focus has increased ;).

I don't think I will rest till he plays in the World Cup 2010, and increases his goal tally for Brazil.

Apart from having a surgery to help with the broken arm or fingers or whatever, Ronaldo is also set for a liposuction! Do I sense an even greater comeback from the legendary striker?

...ah? Couldn't help but feel everyone was wonderin' how he's gettin' on. . .

Scored again on his second game back, aint he? Against Sao Paulo. Absolute jammy goal. He's still lookin', dare I say 'big/bloated' despite the lipo. I'd love him to play against England in the friendly, though. Time is runnin' out for the plane to S.Africa 2010; almost 4 years since he last played for Brazil.

Original Ronaldo was spotted in Brazil by a good Brazilian friend of mine about 5 months ago. Apparently he drunk 20 neat whisky's and smoked about 2 packs of smokes. She showed me the picture of him with her to prove she met him.

What a waste of a life.

Is it really worse than Maradona at the same point in his career? I admit I thought he would never play again when I saw he last injury for Milan (It was around the same time that our Eduardo got injured, wasn't it?). If it turns out he is on the play to SA, it would be an amazing come back. And quite pleasing if the wannabe Ronaldo doesn't qualify...

I'm really sorry, but this guy is ridiculous. Just come back from a suspension and injury and he's hit three in two.

Here's today's.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_f7yA0cWMM" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_f7yA0cWMM</a>" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's awesome we still have an all-time great still playing the sport. If they release a DVD of this guy it'll probably have more action than Rambo; be more emotional than Schindler's List; with more comebacks than Freddy, Jason and Michael Myers; and having the brilliance of The Godfather.

If I wasn't such a manly man who does nothin' but push ups, when I'm not liftin' weights, or buildin' bridges and wheels made of steel and iron, whilst wolf whistling women with a pint of lager in my hand, I'd probably have a crush on this guy. . .

Haha! :lol:

But wow. He's still got it.
Ronaldo is, quite literally, the greatest striker I've ever laid eyes upon. Up there with the all-time greats.

He's been voted Goal.com's player of the deacde with 43% of the vote. Zidane was second, Messi third.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2601/feature/2010/01/01/1719642/ronaldo-is-goalcoms-player-of-the-decade" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2601/fea ... the-decade</a>" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Now, though R9 is my favourite player of all time; I don't quite agree with the outcome. (The list is basically a joke.) I think maybe some have voted for Brazilian Ronaldo thinkin' they were votin' for C.Ronaldo because the outcome is way in favour of Ronnie which is madness considerin' the players who've played alot more than him this last decade.

Still, I'm very happy Ronaldo won. Henry should have finished way, way higher; possibly number 1.

Messi ahead of Henry or Hyypia ahead of Stam/Thuram ? That's a joke. I kind to agree with Ronaldo's win, but the rest of the list is horrible.
