...anyone who watched this World Cup, knows how good Paddy was...the last of him at his peak, the best midfielder ever

Was arguably better than Zizou in 2006 and France's best (certainly most consistent) player and would have added a second World Cup to his CV, if he didn't get injured, Zindine didn't lose his head and they didn't have a coach that makes Gareth Southgate look like Alex Ferguson!

The best all round player by far, defensively a rock and won every midfield duel (from Xavi to Emerson, he beat them) and offensively 4 goal contributions in 7 games...team of the tournament in 06, we have a CM that can do it all!

From the very shallow pool of CONCACAF bvms, he holds the absolute record of most saves in a single match in World Cup. 16 saves from an astounding number of 39 shots, wow.

Even with a poor defence like the bvms of US MLS defenders, he managed to have a brilliant World Cup. Good luck in scoring past him when I field my German defence in front of him

Crying out for a Gunman? Well, Batistuta is top of the list.

Another one of my favourite players of all time, finished a goal behind Davor Šuker in 98 and picked up the WC Silver Shoe Award with 5 goals in the tournament. His international record was exceptional too as he scored 56 goals in 72 appearances.
