Get him on a first class flight back over here. Hopefully he is using the City performance to infleunce his mood/form rather than the early exit from AFCON.

I for one am sharing my brothers in Ghana grief and Parteys grief and wish they have had gone further. But then again I am a sympathetic fellow.

He played on 18.12.2021, 26.12.2021, 1.1.2022, 10.1.2022, 14.1.2022 and 18.1.2022.

That's about a game per 5 days in the past month. The AFCON games were 4 days apart, so there was okay rest between them. The last game was with 10 men, which wasn't so nice.

But surely he could start and be subbed out later, or at least come from the bench against Liverpool?

Ghana also played a friendly on Jan 5th
Massive ask to play Tues with 10 men, fly back from Africa Wed & play on thurs against Liverpoo who are probably the toughest team in the league for a midfielder.
Burnley would be far more realistic.
However we are desperate & have time to rest after Sun so who knows?

Knowing our luck he will return with Covid.

Depends how desperate we are. At the top level, playing 2 games in less than 48 hours is seen as too risky. In terms of causing an injury but also your performance level will most likely be way down. Having just 1 full day of rest is seen as too little to recover. Minimum is usually 2 full days of rest before you would consider. Now add in long distance travel (I'm assuming the flight takes 7 or 8 hours) all of those factors would normally rule him out for the Liverpool game. We are at strange times though and if we are really down to the bare bones then we might have to include him.

You can't be serious. Our fans were all happy he exited afcon without missing a PL game and he goes and does that 😂

Arsenal Quotes

When we won the title on May 3-rd by beating Everton 4-0 as Tony Adams scored that iconic goal, we showed everyone and especially Manchester United that we could beat them. Thirteen days later, when we beat Newcastle 2-0 in the FA Cup final in the legendary Wembley Stadium, it was wonderful... I felt immensely proud for the team, for the club: this was the fantastic response I was able to give to those who had put their confidence in me, as well as those who had put me through all those difficult weeks when I first arrived.
