Emery:

We tried [to make chances], but they are a very competitive, organised team.

“It was important for us to be strong defensively, we did that. Yes, 1-1, but we were better.

“Offensively, this team [Vitoria] is very organised and it’s not easy to have a lot of chance.”
International break can't come soon enough.

This match was absolute dogsh*t btw. Travelling fans deserve a full refund and their accommodations paid for. 1 shot on target against some Portuguese farmers? Disgraceful. Can’t even remember a good passing sequence in the game. Absolute shambles. Also, what’s going on with Rob Holding since he’s come back from injury? Looks just as bad as Mustafi out there, honestly. He had a nightmare against Liverpool as well. Worrying signs. Think Chambers might have gone ahead of him in the pecking order for a CB role. I’d drop Sokratis vs Leicester and put in Callum at CB and bring back Hector at RB.

Haven't seen a thing but apparently we did well again. Away in Portugal, is that what we call a decent point?
No. Against peak Benfica or Porto maybe. Against a team which rarely troubles the Portuguese top six and has only ever won one game against English opposition (1-0 at home to Aston Villa in 1983) a draw is not a good result. Except it was a good result on the night because within the first half hour they'd already hit the post and forced Emiliano to make two very good saves.

It was David against Goliath and Goliath was very lucky not to come away with a drubbing.

Hats off to any fan that travelled with the team or sat through the game on TV. Catching up on the 'highlights' and we seemed to have been pretty dire. One lousy shot on goal...

Even Robbie on AFTV seemed downbeat. One poor Rumanian sod was at the game for his first live Arsenal game... Took a week off from school to see them play. Wish our team could start repaying the supporters, if with nothing else, a bit more lively performances. Right now we are not playing well at all. Really fearing our trip to Leicester.

Arsenal Quotes

I still have an interest in training and development, in the stages that make it possible for players first to acquire technique (between 7 and 12) and then to develop physically (between 12 and 16), then to deepen their mental resilience (between 17 and 19) and finally between 19 and 22 to acquire what is critical, like the roof of a house without which all the rest rots away: intelligence and motivation
