Thanks! MotM as a CB in a first game of the season, against Wolfsburg! Wow, wtf. Wonder if he was officially that or just a figure of speech here.

His presence reassuring his team more than the captain who is 34 years old.

"St-Etienne were playing with a back four, so he was partnered with club captain Loïc Perrin, who is having a very difficult season so far. However, Saliba was the man of the match and was extremely important to the team.

The centre-back’s performance was, as always, extremely composed. He had a real impact at the back as his presence really reassured all of his teammates. They all know that they can rely on him."

"He came back just as he left: absurdly good."

I read elsewhere that he did fine but wasn`t really tested as Wolfsburg created very little . Hopefully he`ll keep his place for the weekend, St Etienne have their big derby against Lyon on Sunday

Okay, this praise seemed a bit out of proportion, was he really the MotM.

Anyway, similar stuff to seeing Tierney thrive straight from injury. Wolfsburg is not a bad team.

Since Saliba is back:

1:0 win against Nimes away, 1:0 home win against Lyon, 1:1 vs Wolfsburg in the EL, which are second in the Bundesliga.

Just finished watching the game and he's guided Saint-Etienne to a 1-0 victory over rivals Lyon.

In a game of that magnitude he looked one of the most experienced on the field, can't believe he's only 18, was born in 2001 ffs.

Lyon's attack isn't bad either, kept both Depay and Dembele quite but some great movement by Aouar caught him out late in the game, luckily he missed and Saliba did enough to put him off.

Hope he keeps this up and I look forward to watching more of ASSE

Tottenham currently losing their two starting CB's next summer and Saliba chose Arsenal, if you can call it a choice. They never wanted him. ;)
