No truth in the John Stones rumours, says Arteta
The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for the Manchester City star, but Arteta is not interested.
Stones has fallen out of favour with Pep Guardiola and with the Euro’s in sight, a move to the Emirates didn’t appear out of the question.
The Gunners are in need of defensive reinforcements, but former City coach Arteta has revealed Stones was never in the running to team up with him in north London.
Asked if there is any truth in his reported interest in Stones, Arteta kept it simple, saying: “No, no truth at all.”
He added: “John is a player I really like.
“I worked with him for many years and I know him well, and obviously when I look at centre-backs he has got many attributes that I like from one.
“But we are not interested in him.”
