According to reports, AC Milan have reignite their interest in bringing Lucas Torreira back to Italy.

The Arsenal midfielder has been linked with the Serie A giants for some time.

Back in January, there were persistent rumours AC, backed by former Arsenal chief Ivan Gazidis, were keen on the Uruguayan.

A switch to Serie A appears to be the most likely move for Torreira, who previously played in Italy for Sampdoria and Pescara.

Torreira could be on the move this summer

Torreira arrived in north London in the summer of 2018, signing for around £26m from Sampdoria and he made an encouraging start to life in England, making 50 appearances in all competitions in his first season with the Gunners.

Things changed at the start of this season with Unai Emery dropping the Uruguayan before playing him out of position – to the midfielder’s dismay.

Corriere dello Sport reports that they will make a move as and when the transfer window reopens.

The Italian publication says Milan are determined to renew their interest from last summer in Torreira, and are weighing up their options with Arsenal wanting £40million for the 24 year-old.

Gooners, would you be disappointed to see Lucas move on? Let us know in the comments…
