According to reports, Arsenal have resumed their interest in signing Sampdoria midfielder Dennis Praet this summer.
The Belgium international was first identified as a potential target by Arsene Wenger after Praet impressed against the Gunners playing for Anderlecht in the Champions League five years ago.
Praet is a former teammate of current fan favourite Lucas Torreira who has made a fantastic start to his career in north London.
The pair lined up alongside one another at Sampdoria, and enjoyed a strong relationship in the middle of the park prior to Torreria sealing a big move to Arsenal in 2018.
Corriere dello Sport claims Unai Emery, whose transfer budget will largely depend upon whether he can secure Champions League qualification, is lining up a €20million move.
Emery will be afforded around £40million to spend overall when the transfer window opens, but this could increase should Arsenal finish in the top four.
The Gunners have just four games left of their season to achieve this feat.
