Arsenal have enquired over the availability of Brazlian starlet Gabriele Martinelli.
Brazilian outlet UOL claim Gunners club scout Everton Gushiken has been at the Allianz Parque two weeks ago, where he watched the Ituano striker playing an away match against Palmeiras.
The 17-year-old forward has impressed so far for Fourth Division side Ituano in the State Championship, scoring four goals and making three assists.
UOL claim the Gunners would consider paying as much as €8m in a deal which is ‘being discussed’.
The fact that the player is in the process of getting an Italian citizenship would also see an easier transition to the Premier League.
Martinelli has had trials previously with Manchester United and Barcelona and has also been watched by Watford and Crystal palace in recent months, but the teams appear to have missed the opportunity to sign him.
Unai Emery’s side remain on course to see him join in the summer.
