Melissa Burgin was successful in reaching the level of 1W and was promoted to referee Women’s Super League fixtures at the start of the season, along with Adewunmi Soneye and Phoebe Cross.
This will be the first time Burgin has refereed a match involving West Ham United and will be the second match she has refereed involving Arsenal.
Burgin’s only match involving The Gunners was the 2-1 win at home versus Everton in the Women’s Super League in January. On that occasion, she brandished four yellow cards, including a booking for Lia Wälti, in front of a crowd of 3,713 at Meadow Park.
