Arsenal youngster and Barcelona La Masia academy graduate Jon Toral is one of several loanees making waves at new clubs this season. The Spaniard joined Birmingham on a season long loan, and didn’t take long to make his presence felt at the club.

He scored in his opening two matches for the club, and continues to impress with some good performances. This isn’t his first successful loan spell either, as he spent last season on loan at Brentford, scoring 6 goals in 37 appearances including a brilliantly taken hat trick against Blackpool.

He earned himself a call up to the first team’s preseason trip to Singapore this summer and impressed the coaching staff with some good displays. This lad is a special footballer and has the potential to be a real star for the club.

The pacey and skillful attacker has fantastic technical ability and superb dribbling, and is capable of playing on either flank or in the No 10 role.

He is comfortable with both feet and loves to score goals as well as create them. He has much to learn still about positioning without the ball, but that is to be expected from a young player. The ingredients are there for a truly top class player in the future.

He is in good company with the likes of Bellerin and Julio Pleguezuelo also Barca products and of course Cesc Fabregas before them.

A year in the Championship will do him wonders as he makes his final steps in his maturation, and the Arsenal staff will be watching intently.
