Yes. A few of them dropped off their levels and probably played a lot of minutes without much goal return past their peak (Torres, Fowler, Cole, Drogba)
To an extent sure, but for example Torres lost his scoring touch at a ripe old age of 27 and only stayed in the league for 3 more years. Drogba has had an erratic career in the PL and only really had 2 great seasons out of 9, the best one coming at a later stage at the age of 32.

I mean, of course these stats don't mean too much in the overall scheme of things but they do somewhat underline just how underrated the SuperSteed really is.

The stat just backs up what we already should know: he's a very good CF who normally will put the ball in the net every couple of games. We also all know his limitations in terms of pace and that when he loses form he really tanks. The key is to have other people also scoring regularly so it's not all down to him, as it seemed to be last season. We have seen that if he is relied on to be the main goal scorer it likely won't be enough, and that he loses form when overplayed.

With Alexis carrying the bulk of the load at CF and allowing us to attack quickly and fluidly, Giroud can be used to supplement the attack and change things up, either late in games or against certain opponents. The goals to minutes ratio bodes very well for a player used like that.

He's not a very good CF though, he's a good goalscorer by the looks of it. Bit of a flat track bully and patchy as well. Agree with the rest of the post.

He's such a danger in the air, he'll be crucial this season in fact. We really have 2 gears with the pacy wingers and Alexis, or Giroud and Alexis/Ramsey workhorses on the wing
