Don't think it's a purple patch.He did great and made this new Atletico.They just can't compete with Barca and Real whole season and other teams from league can't help them in that way.Also,it's maybe mental thing now with Atletico.They lost CL finals in very painful way.

I dunno anymore really, the squad is probably one of the best we've had in years.

I think the fact that Simeone and Griezmann are both half way out the door isn't helping. I mean we've been quality in the CL it just feels like it's the end of an era and everyone around the club knows it.

Your hate of Simeone has made you completely delusional. Was 13/14 a purple patch? Did you forget about winning the Europa League and Copa del Rey? Finishing 3 points off the title last season? 2 Champions league finals where they were arguably the better team especially last season? That's an unbelievable record for a team with Atletico's budget over a period of 5 years.

Haven't really had the time to follow La Liga but they looked better than ever a month or so ago. They were destroying teams on a regular basis like you would expect Barca's attack to do. The collapse came from no where so I wonder if there are internal problems.

The more I watch the likes of Simeone, Klopp, Tuchel the less impressed I am. All incredibly tactically limited when the primary option fails & their teams cant consistently control games with the ball.

Zidane is no where near these managers you mention.Conte isn't better than Simeone for sure.
