Having spent the entire summer a free agent since being released from Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg at the end of last season, Arsenal cult hero Nicklas Bendtner finally has a new club.

Today joining Championship side Nottingham Forest – whom Arsenal will soon face in the EFL Cup – Bendtner is an experienced addition to Philippe Montanier’s side as the Tricky Trees aim to finally get out of the second tier.

Forest’s signing of Bendtner as a free agent is so much more than a signing alone with Bendtner having endured or rather more enjoyed cult status in football at large since he first burst on the scene with the Gunners in 2005.

One of the most socially recognised footballers of the last decade, what with being referred to as ‘Lord Bendtner’ online with the Danish international boasting his own square foot of land in Scotland with Lord status, it’s all rather tongue-in-cheek.

Because after all, Bendtner is looked upon as a footballer who thinks he’s brilliant when in reality, he’s about as average a striker as they come.

Having made grand statements about his ability in the past, Bendtner has almost played along at times but in his unveiling to the press at the City Ground today, he reaffirmed that he’s totally concentrating on his football.

So with the Bendtner theme in mind, Arsenal Mania are today listing FIVE other cult heroes who can be considered among Arsenal’s greatest of all-time!
