Brighton star Moises Caicedo says he is only focused on Brighton amid much speculation linking him to Arsenal.

THE LOWDOWN: WINTER BUSINESS

Arsenal have been active this month, snapping up Leandro Trossard and Jakub Kiwior in the space of four days after missing out on Mudryk.

In what looked like a poor start to the window has now be brightened by those two signings last week.

Now, another target the club has been liked with has voiced out his opinion about the speculation and his desire to remain at his current club.

THE LATEST: PLAYER’S DESIRE

Ever since he made his debut for Brighton in 2021, Caicedo has been linked with a big-money move away from the Amex, thanks to his highly impressive performances for club and for Ecuador.

The 21-year-old is keen to remain at the Premier League club until the summer at the earliest, with the player revealing he has no plans to leave the south coast in January.

“I am focussed on Brighton. I am here, I’m playing every day,” Caicedo told his club’s official website.

‘Things from outside don’t trouble me, nor does it take that focus away because I’m focussed only on here.”

“I handle [the speculation] well. You hear rumours here and there, but I only try to be focused on the club where I am now, the club which opened the doors for me to be playing every week.”

“The most difficult part for me was getting used to the cold again, nothing else!” the young star added.

“For the rest, I have been focussed on doing things very well and to be up there fighting for a good position with Brighton. We are getting better all the time.”

“There’s an evolution with every match – we all understand each other better. The coach is giving us that confidence to always do things well on the pitch.”

“Roberto [De Zerbi] has really helped me in bringing the ball out from the back and I think I have learned it well, I enjoy playing the ball out from the back. We do it well, coming out from deep positions. It is his preferred system and I’m enjoying it.”

THE VERDICT: LOOKING ELSEWHERE

Arsenal have their eyes fixed somewhere else in the summer and that seems to be happening with the Declan Rice situation.

The England star has reportedly chosen Arsenal and the Gunners might go for him in the summer instead of Caicedo.
