Arsenal are reportedly keeping an eye out on Leandro Paredes, ahead of a possible approach in the January transfer window.

THE LOWDOWN: WINTER ACTIVITIES

Even after a brilliant summer transfer window, Arsenal have remained active in the market for more stars to add to the quality at the club at the moment.

Names like Ruben Neves, Manuel Locatelli and Marcos Asensio have been mentioned alongside the Gunners in the past few months and it appears Arsenal are ready to splash the cash once again.

As the search for a midfielder continues, Arteta is keen to make an addition in January and a World Cup star has now been linked with the Gunners.

THE LATEST: MIDFIELD OPTION

Arsenal are interested in Argentine midfielder Leandro Paredes, ahead of a possible move in the January window.

Paredes, who is in Qatar with Argentina for the World Cup, is currently on loan at Juventus from PSG.

According to Football London, Arsenal could make a bargain move for the midfielder in January.

It’s believed that Arsenal are looking for alternatives to Youri Tielemans and that Paredes, who was linked with a move to England in the summer, is an option.

As mentioned in the report, the midfielder could be available for a fee lesser than the £13m being mentioned around in the summer.

Meanwhile, Youri Tielemans remains a long-term target but he’s not expected in January.

THE VERDICT: NOT QUITE THE FIT

Paredes is ridiculously good on his day and would be a delight if he makes the move to the Premier League.

Although Arsenal do need to sign a few new players to really challenge Man City, Paredes’ age (28) and lack of Premier League experience could be an hindrance.
