Since Alexis Sanchez joined the club from Barcelona last summer, he has been a great signing for Arsenal. This Chilean has been Arsenal’s best player this season, he has scored 19 goals in 36 starts. He has also managed eight assists. These impressive statistics highlight how important he has become to the team.

Alexis has made an instant impact in the Premier League, his form has slightly dropped off lately, though. Most of his goals have been scored in and around the 70th minute, as he is arguably the most dangerous in the latter stages of matches when the game becomes stretched.

Apart from his short time out of the side due to a hamstring strain in February, he has been an ever present in the team. Alexis and Chelsea’s Diego Costa have probably been the best two signings of the season. Their playing style has suited their new teams perfectly. Costa is more of a physical presence whereas Alexis uses his pace and strength effectively. Other players who have caught the eye are Cesc Fabregas and Santi Cazorla, respectively.

Just looking at the statistics alone demonstrates his impact on the team, his creative ability means he has been involved in many Arsenal goals. Fans love him even more because he never gives up, and never stops running. Despite his height he is not afraid to head the ball either. At times this season Arsenal have relied heavily on Alexis, luckily for us team form’s has improved. For all his goals, assists and endeavour I think he deserves to be at the very least a contender for the Player of the Season award.
