I acknowledge fully we're enduring a terrible run of form which is being amplified with all the Wenger speculation talk alongside the media persisting with their pathetic agenda against Arsenal and Arsène which our fans are increasingly falling for every time. The team have recently put in some of the most diabolical performances I've ever witnessed from any Arsenal team but I'm certain many of our rivals would struggle just as bad or worse if they experienced what Arsenal have this campaign. Regardless of how great or mentally strong a set of players may be; constant scrutiny and unnecessary negative coverage of you, your teammates and manager is going to affect your performances. For large portions of the season we've been without Cazorla, Ramsey, Elneny and Özil, four key midfielders central to the way we play and our attacking dynamic, remove the equivalent players from our rivals squads for a length of time and they'd be in a worse position than Arsenal.

All those sides are ahead of us at present but not by a large enough margin that would suggest its highly implausible for us to pull it back, despite our poor form we're a better and more experienced side than the other four teams and we still have to play against three of them so top four is very much still in our hands. Wenger consistently delivers for us at this stage of the campaign when we're at risk of dropping out of the top four; whether that's through dropping key players who under perform or adopting our playing style to a more pragmatic approach for grinding out results as shown on many occasions and I'm optimistic this will once again transpire.
Your right we have tough matches upcoming and the team will need to fight tooth and nail in order to gain the points in those encounters but this is the premier league where every game is challenging for any team, Our fixture list is undoubtedly going to test the team but City, United and Liverpool also have big games awaiting them as well as matches against each other so their certain to drop points themselves. Arsenal and Wenger just need to focus on getting the attitude right for the remaining games with players fighting for the win and ignoring the constant bad press as hard as it is for footballers.

Its completely irrelevant that Sp**s are 9 points ahead, even if they had 25 more points than us at this stage of the season they'd still find a way to end up below us as thats what Tottenham specialise in, being a joke lol.
Pathetic club with mediocre supporters. Cannot wait to smash them 10-0 in the fa cup final!
we are the joke mate, Sp**s are ahead of us with less money and are still winning without harry kane. Plus did u not watch the way we lost to bayern?

I'm still pretty certain that we will make the top four. There has always been an issue with our consistency and with our predictable defeats however Wenger generally comes out fighting when his back is to the wall

The team line up for our next league game will say a lot, if it has Özil in then whatever 'illness' he has picked up has now been cleared up.

We have always needed one moment or person to turn the mindset of the fans and players alike, everyone can simultaneously sense that we are giving it a go

Think back to Sanga getting that header against Sp**s and then picking the ball out of the net and running back to halfway. Think about Theo scoring two lovely goals against Sp**s and low and behold the sun literally shone on Arsenal fans

We can and will do this, United and Liverpool are poor teams/squads on a hot run at the moment. There luck and form will turn as will ours heading into the championship games.

I could kiss you for this (I am female, by the way) - although I don't believe a word of what you say, a positive post from someone - anyone - is sorely needed on this forum

Let's hope he's a male then.:D And yay, another female!!!

I could do the whole 'I'm all man' thing but the wife insists on me not embarrassing all of mankind in public....

I reckon that this whole will he won't he thing was kicked up a notch after Wright said he reckons he will go. It made it okay for everyone else to say the same. I personally don't think Wenger has got any worse over the last year or two however he has signed a lot of talent over the last season and a bit and we haven't progressed one bit.

A breath of fresh air would be nice however I'm still pretty sure that the big man will turn it around, albeit temporarily.

Were on free fall at the moment this International break might help us out with a few injuries,I think we're going to struggle to make the top six to be honest.

what's so funny about that? he's 100% right

No he's not 100% right. It's laughable that you and a bunch of other posters think we're going to pick up "10-14" points from our last eleven games (literally relegation form) and finish outside the top 6.

I appreciate there's almost a competition going on right now to see who can be the most mind-numbingly pessimistic, but I'm sure you'll forgive me for managing to keep a level-head.

ok, so do what we did and put results by each of the games we have left - show us where all these points are going to come from

and i'll say again that we've only won 3 points out of the last 15 - that's a worse average than 14 points from 33

oh and talking of relegation form, you have to go down to Boro to find a record worse than ours in the last 5 games

Nothing Wrong With Me
We're experiencing a bad patch at the moment and the quality level amongst the top 7 teams hasn't been this high for a good number of years but Im still confident we'll get champions league next season and think we could end up second.

Many flaws have been exposed in recent months but our main rivals also have major weaknesses; United are inconsistent and lack confidence, City are a joke defensively,, Liverpool lack quality to break down well drilled opponents and Tottenham are Tottenham lol we all know whats going to happen with them.

You think those teams have major weaknesses, yet they're all ahead of us, that's how big our weakness is! I don't see how we can finish top 4 let alone 2nd!

Crazy how tight the top teams from 2nd-7th are. The media keep trying to act like Tottenham are in the title race yet could be tracked down to our level if we beat them and won our game in hand (unlikely)

Tbh though I don't see where the optimism for a top four spot comes from, our last two league wins had quite a bit of luck to them.

Mate, instead of sneering at so-called 'pessimistic' posters while smugly perched on your high horse, why don't you show us where you think the points are going to come from, as @mm76 said?

a) The current PL standings:

b) The form table (over the last 6 games, we are 16th, a point ahead of West Ham & Sunderland - literally relegation strugglers' form):

c) Our remaining fixtures:

It's in our hands. City, Utd and Everton all have to come to the Emirates. Playing Sp**s too.

Only problem is getting into the top 4 is reliant on us actually beating the big teams and we all know how good we are with that.

Theoretically, perhaps. Even then, we'll be level with Liverpool and dependent on increasing our goal difference significantly to snatch 4th.

The way the relationship between fans & the club has broken down, playing at the Emirates might be more intimidating for the team than the opposition. Can you imagine the stick they'll get from the crowd if/when they give away goals cheaply, as they have been doing recently?

Forget how we or other teams have historically finished seasons. Considering our current form, the form of our rivals, our tough run-in and the volatile situation the club are in, I don't know how people are being so confident that we can finish in the Top 4 this season.

I don’t look at the passport of people; I look at their quality and their attitude.
