Not A Big Believer In Diversity
Why are people pretending Gazidis did nothing during his time here?

Mandem sacked Wenger ffs. We all wish he could stick around a little longer but that’s not how superheroes work. There are other clubs in trouble too.
Shame it took him so long.

Arseblog had this short blurb about him:

Still quite confused as to how this is going to work. Is the role of Gazidis being handed to Venkatesham, or is it being split between Venkatesham and Sanllehi? If so, will those two then report to Josh Kroenke or what? Who's the primary voice of the club now?

New Year, Same Hate For Reed
So this chap Vinai has been at the club since 2010 looking after all the commercial activities of the club. Ermm.. doesn't sound that great looking at the last 8 years. We have been decent but nothing great commercially.

This structure seems short term. I still believe we will get a CEO as a separate role in the coming weeks/months. Josh Kroenke is still not excluded.
got to take some time for him to relinquish his US responsibilities and find himself a millionaire's pad in London;)

It's f*cking mad how much has changed at Arsenal in the space of a year. Glacial change for decades and all of a sudden there's a new ownership structure, management structure and coaching structure, not to mention quite a high player turnover. It's a radically different club.

Ivan Gazidis is leaving his job as the Arsenal chief executive to join AC Milan. The 54-year-old, who joined the club in 2009, is expected to depart before the turn of the year.

Gazidis has been offered a salary of about £3.6 million — £1 million more than he earns at Arsenal — as well as an equity stake in Milan by the American hedge fund Elliott Management, which owns the Italian club. Elliott wants to transform Milan’s fortunes before potentially selling its investment would mean that Gazidis could earn a windfall. He has a 12-month notice period on his Arsenal contract and may have to spend some time on gardening leave.

Gazidis was instrumental in overhauling Arsenal’s management and coaching structure and effectively easing Arsène Wenger out of the club after 22 years as manager. Gazidis pushed hard for Mikel Arteta to succeed the Frenchman but the board chose Unai Emery at the 11th hour.

Some Arsenal fans have been critical of Gazidis’s role at the club and his legacy may be tied into the success, or otherwise, of Emery. When Arsenal were set to fall out of the top four two seasons ago he talked about his “catalyst for change” and late last year he appointed Raúl Sanllehí, the director of football in all but name, Sven Mislintat, the head of recruitment, and Huss Fahmy to handle player contracts.

He wanted a framework where the manager purely coached and appeared to emphasise that in the summer when he admitted that Emery did not have the final say on recruitment.

Gazidis oversaw Arsenal’s purchase of StatDNA, the data analytics company, which Wenger did not embrace. He wanted to find a role for Arteta when he retired as a player in 2016 but Wenger warned that “you cannot create artificial positions”.

Raul Stanllehi
This man led the way for Wenger's sacking and the structural changes which turned us somewhat into a modern club these days. Convinced one of the best football scouts to join us. Convinced a great football man in Raul Sanllehi to join us. Secured a massive deal with Adidas despite being in a terrible position to negotiate a great deal. Thanks to Gazidis we have a proper structure where the business people deal with the business and the football people with football matters.

Thank you for everything you've done, Ivan. I'll miss your perfectly bald, smart head.
