For Vieira - and for all coaches for that matter - it seems to me that we should be surrounding them with the right people. Where you are weak, employ someone is strong. Vieira is a club legend, and pretty much no other coach out there can ever lay a better claim to that, except perhaps Wenger and Henry. Along with being a club legend he's intimidating and charismatic, and these three things are his strengths. So to me, I would be employing people where he is weak - perhaps it's someone with a great attacking mind who can set the right structures, or a defensive coach whose great strength is the press and offside trap, or a GK coach who does very well in defensive organisation. Perhaps they just need a good PA to keep them organised.
We can't honestly be going into a managerial recruitment process with just the names of managers, can we? Surely it's more than that.
Look at your own job and the people who support and work with you - marketing, HR, legal, finance, etc are already pretty specialised - could you do all of those competently?
