Because we have a real plan in place, and that plan will take time. They put all their eggs in one basket in Emery thinking he'd get us CL football via the Europa. Guess what... Didn't happen. KSE said **** it and have made Arteta a long term appointment as compared to their American franchises. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think Arteta will be sacked any time soon.
I'm pretty sure Emery had a plan, and it didn't work. I'm sure Arteta has a plan, but can we really see it? The only decent football I can remember is the last month or so and that's because of ESR being introduced due to an injury. Doesn't seem like much of a plan, more like coincidence.
Isn't that what we're doing now with Arteta? All our eggs in the EL basket. We spent 45m on a 27 year old Partey in the summer, you don't do that unless your aim is to get CL football now. We're 10th.
So what's changed? There might be slight differences between Emery and Arteta but let's be honest they're not vast differences. Both have been pretty mediocre on the whole. Would he have survived with fans in the ground? Ask yourself that.
