I have seen him put on his twitter before that his facebook got hacked and it was not him. But I dont know who to believe. There were some talks of Ansah going on loan to Charlton next season. If he goes the reserves/U18s are going to be short of strikers. As Freeman, Murphy are expected to go out on loan and Deacon is leaving the club. And if Ansah does then Roberts might be first choice striker for the reserves?

His agent said that there changed some things and that he gets a chance in pre season with the first squad.

Saw that as well and wonder how many places he has promised in his first team pre-season camp as sweeteners to young players.

Finally. Can't believe he was here as long as he was.

Our 18 year old U18/Reserve 'keeper, Emi Martinez, has been called up into the Argentinian senior squad. Very pleased for the kid, massive talent.

Martinez called up to senior Argentine squad
Emiliano Martínez has been called up to the senior Argentina squad for the forthcoming friendlies against Nigeria and Poland.

Martínez, who is a member of the Under 20 squad, was promoted following a last minute injury to Oscar Ustari.

The Arsenal Reserve team back up joins Sergio Batista’s squad straight away.

An amazing decision, quite frankly. Where did they get the indication our youth GK, who's mostly unknown even here (though there was a buzz about him, what serious level football does he have to show?) can go to the senior squad? It looks strange, though - yeah, great news. If they do know what they're doing, even greater news.

Its more of an Argentia b team as players like Messi, Tevez etc are not in the squad. Its only friendly matches.

He was named in the team of the tournament at the U17 World Cup in 2009, even though Argentina were eliminated pretty early. He has always been considered a HUGE talent back in Argentina.

He will play a lot more for the reserves next season as James Shea expected to go out on loan next season. I would thought McDermott will be second choice to Martinez for the reserves next season only if Shea goes out on loan. Also Martinez should be going to the U20 world cup in July.

He sure is. That's why I've never warmed to him at all.

Though perhaps he will be the Ansah to our problems in attack.

*groan*

Yeah, ok - I chuckled a little bit.

Ricky, you know it's not serious. If this was not a friendly (or something like vela says) this would have been an outrage - what, arsenal no. 6 (more or less), is called for - Argentina NT? Nice that he's considered a huge talent, the U-17WC - I said there was a buzz here as well. But - come on...

let's just hope this exaggeration proves to be a decent prophecy.

Another five years salary gone, this lad was on a very decent contract so why after his failure to step-up in 2008-9 has it taken another two years to cut our loses - we need someone in this club to start making the 'tough' decisions a lot quicker - carrying 30-40m of deadwood salaries a year is just crazy ...

@DJMarkstar : yeh it was a rubbish pun, I just wanted to get it in early before someone else did

Nice to hear Martinez is doing well, always seemed highly rates, as does Shea, we have quite the glut of young goalkeepers.

Arsenal Quotes

What does Arsenal mean? It means class. The structure of the Club, everything has a classy feel about it. It isn't always about success, there is more than that and this is what makes it a cut above the rest.
