had to post this, one of the reasons i became an arsenal fan ..
Wrighty might have become one of the reason I became an Arsenal fan -- and Tony Adams, as well -- if Graham Taylor's England team could knock it and qualified for the 1994 World Cup, thus putting them on my TV (and possibly even in my home State). Alas, they could not knock it.

Wrighty was the reason I became a Gooner, many many years ago. I must've been 8 or 9 when I watched him playing for Crystal Palace in FA Cup quite a few times in 2 consecutive seasons, and goes thinking 'i want to be like him' :)

Then we signed him, and I'm a Gooner since that time

It looks like Eboue is not doing too badly since leaving us he is now being linked to Juve and Fiorentina,

Good luck to him it was a pity that his career did not go too well with us.

Galatasaray supporting friend of mine who follows the league did tell me Eboue has been absolutely amazing for them. Called him better than Sagna, but I'm not too sure about that :p

Fabregas is absolute class, one of my favourite players around. Always humble and incredibly friendly.

Flamini played for AC Milan last night at Yankee Stadium. But he was a total nonfactor and was subbed early the 2nd half.

Nuri Sahin played for Madrid and was good. We're still linked with him, right?

So this raises the number of Arsenal players I've seen live to 9 -- 10 if we get Sahin, although he'll be the first to have been a future Gunner rather than an ex-Gunner.

I saw your list in the MLS thread. You can add another name to it: Lass Diarra is also an ex-Gunner.

I just realized that a moment ago. I saw the name but had him confused with Alou Diarra, who's never played in England but was recently signed by West Ham.

So it's 10. Maybe 11, if Sahin is purchased. I didn't realize I was looking at Sahin, because no programs or scorecards were sold and Madrid didn't have names on the back, but Number 5 had some good moves out there.

I'm still a ways from making a full XI out of such players, as I have no goalies or fullbacks.

Diarra actually had a contract with the Scousers I remember, funny that he's been at Bayern and Liverpool in his early twenties but just recently (<5 years) started to make a name for himself, forgot about him completely until he won the French league with Bordeaux.

Really felt sorry for him when he was so suddenly shipped out. We certainly could have done with him last season.

What did he thought when he joined Barca? I'm going to play as free as I was @ Arsenal?

No. He's saying he struggled to find his feet in one of the most well-drilled, tactically proficient teams in history, with players having played that style for years and years.

At that time when I posted that Chamakh was in top form. After his sex scandal he really looked a different player.

I remember at one point of time alot of people was talking about Chamakh being better fit to our system than RVP

Ridiculous really.

One of Arsène's worst buys for sure. We should flog him to some Italian club, maybe in the Serie A he might come across as "fast and skillful"
