He's actually a very good defender by his natural abilities.

Problem is, like you said, he's also braindead - no sense to ever, just for once, not to do his classic kamikaze approach of defending.
He basically does quite good for 70-80% of the time and then he gifts 3-4 high profile chances for the remainder.

He got two coaches to proof himself being capable of turning this around, but he did not improve at all.
