Chelski was hoping to trick us into plan B leaving Partey to them (knowing he was set to leave).

Was on the assumption that we can sell players. That has been the biggest failure of this window sadly.

We won’t get Aouar, not this window. Maybe next year.

But you said "we have cash for both". How can that be related to selling first?

I thought for sure (at the time) that we’d be able to sell all of Sokratis, Mustafi, Kolasinac, Guendouzi, AMN or Bellerin etc. for cash. That’s been a huge failure.

If we did we’d have been able to sign both. Didn’t happen so we only have the money for Partey.

Arsenal Quotes

When we won the title on May 3-rd by beating Everton 4-0 as Tony Adams scored that iconic goal, we showed everyone and especially Manchester United that we could beat them. Thirteen days later, when we beat Newcastle 2-0 in the FA Cup final in the legendary Wembley Stadium, it was wonderful... I felt immensely proud for the team, for the club: this was the fantastic response I was able to give to those who had put their confidence in me, as well as those who had put me through all those difficult weeks when I first arrived.
